What Is a Financial Health Score?
Our financial health score grades credit unions from A+ (excellent) to F (critical risk) based on three key NCUA metrics: net worth ratio (capital adequacy), delinquency rate (loan quality), and loan-to-share ratio(balance sheet health). A score of A or higher means your credit union is well-capitalized and financially stable.
Why Does It Matter?
While all deposits up to $250,000 are insured by the NCUA (the federal equivalent of FDIC), a credit union's financial health affects the rates and services it can offer. Healthier CUs typically offer better loan rates, higher savings yields, and more member benefits.
